(15) Jessica says: I heard a healthy heartbeat at 6 weeks and 6
days. My son got the live virus nasal vaccine when I was 7 weeks and
3 days. THey told me that the mist was a live virus and to wash his
and my hands if he touches his nose. We were cautious but maybe not
enough? They said it was such a small chance I could catch it from
him. I started to miscarry the next night and had no heartbeat two
days later. I now have the flu 6 days after my son’s vaccine. High
fever, chills, cough, raspy voice, achy and headache. I now want to
confirm that I do indeed have H1N1 vs the regular flu, but please be
careful if you are pregnant and perhaps have someone else take your
child to get vaccinated. Of course it is important to get them
vaccinated since if they caught it you could catch it too

Betsy Powell says: Unfortunately the H1N1 vaccine has some
risks; latest reports show 28 US pregnant women have died and there
have been many miscarriages. I have written an article on how
difficult it is to get pregnant after a miscarriage. Please see this

wonder….

(21) sarah says: I had H1N1 vaccine last tuesday night and went
in for my 8 week ultrasound yesterday morning and there was no
heartbeat. After reading these posts I am very concerned that the
miscairrage was caused by the vaccine. This was my 3rd pregnancy and
I did not have any complications or miscairrages previous to this
pregnancy!

(7) Alex says: I believe I had H1N1 over 2 1/2 weeks ago (fever,
aches, headache, cough, sore throat, chills) the worst flu like
symptoms I have ever had…I still have a slight cough and aches. Went
to the Doctor 3 days ago for my 8 week pregnancy appt (and first dr
appt) and found out our baby had no heartbeat…I had miscarried. I
just recvd my blood work and it shows I have an elevated white blood
count (Neutrophils) and Low Lymphocytes count. I have to believe
that this virus contributed in someway to my miscarriage. Stay
Healthy!!!!

recently had a miscarriage the day after taking the h1n1 shot my
baby was fine with a healthy heartbeat until I took the swine flu

– approximately three days after my symptoms started. I had a high
fever and took Tamiflu, which may have contributed. Best advice is
get immunized before you get pregnant.

(43) Lisa says: I am looking into the H1N1 vaccine and
miscarriage. I was not really interested in this injection, but
working in a hospital, I was constantly advised to ‘do it for the
baby’. I got the go ahead from my Dr. and after my 1st prenatal
visit, being 6 weeks I accepted the shot. My following visit I was
11 weeks showed my baby passed at 8 weeks and 4 days. I then
miscarried on Feb. 19th

(13) lisa says: My five year old son was diagnosed and
hospitalized for uncontrolable fever with swine flu. He is now home
and better, but I am having severe symptoms in my chest, I have
asthma and am 8 weeks pregnant. I went to the doctor yesterday and
he thinks I am miscarring due to my hcg levels stopped climbing
within the last four days. I have five healthy children and have
never miscarried before. I wish there was something that could be
done with this nasty flu and what it is doing to so many people
alive and still in the womb trying to have life.

(44) Shelley says: I had my swine flu jab at 11 weeks 2days my
baby died at 11 weeks 3 days, (19th Feb) no heartbeat at the
ultrasound. I do not know if this was the cause, I may have
miscarried anyway, but from reading the comments on here there is
obviously also a risk of getting swine flu and miscarrying. I know
that if I got the flu and miscarried I would have wished I had the
jab. Such a horrible time to get pregnant! In hindsight I wish I did
not have the jab done and I will not get the jab in my next
pregnancy but obviously won’t need it now! My heart goes out to all
of you who have gone through this and wish you all healthy
pregnancies in the future.

wednesday. I was 11 weeks and 5 days. I went for an ultrasound today
(12 weeks) and there was no heartbeat so I get a D&C on Monday. I am
devastated I didn’t get the shot in time and worse, I didn’t think I
needed it. I had no idea there was a connection to miscarriage. I
knew they said for pregnant woman but I assumed I was strong and
would fight it off. I feel so stupid now.

(46) Kimi says: i got the swine flu vaccine and the regular flu
vaccine on Wednesday, November 5th, and miscarried on November 9th.
it’s hard to say if it’s getting the shot that causes some
miscarriages or if it’s not getting it and contracting the
flu….maybe it’s both. Maybe it’s a risk to get it, and a risk to get
sick. Who knows..

was 10 weeks pregnant. I miscarried the same week. I became pregnant

miscarried again that same week. I just don’t believe both
miscarriages were a coincidence.

(25) Jessi says: I started getting flu symptoms on Nov. 9th.
That same day I went to my OB and had an ultrasound that was normal.
I was not tested for H1N1 until four days later on Nov. 12th and
since I had not gotten better. That same day I was tested they
prescriped a Azythromicin just in case it was an infection until the
H1N1 results came back. On Nov. 17, five days I was tested for H1N1,
the doctor called saying the test had come back positive for H1N1.
That same day they started me on Tamiflu. The next day, Nov. 18, I
wasn’t feeling any better so the doctor to me to go to ER at
Hospital where he was going to admit me into Hospital because they
suspected I might be developing serious respiratory complications.
They decided to do a chest Xray to check my lungs and an ultrasound
to see that baby was fine. When they did the ultrasound there was NO
heatbeat.

(29) Suzanne says: I had H1N1 in June. I didn’t know i was
pregnant but found out one week after the flu symptoms began. My
symptoms became worse – the flu went away and came back. I had
severe coughing to the point of vomiting. i was put on antibiotics
(2 rounds) to try and rid my body of the cough. I have never felt as
sick. I miscarried my baby at 6 weeks pregnant – it had no heartbeat
and I went in for a D&C. The doctor said it was likely the virus
that caused the miscarriage. My body was too intent on saving me and
I had nothing left to help the baby survive. I have 3 children and
have never had any miscarriages or fertility issues prior to this.
We were devastated. 4th child or not, unexpected or not, we loved
it.

(30) Jo says: I am so grateful to have found this discussion. I
contracted swine flu in July, just as I had found out I was
pregnant. I can safely say I have never been so poorly. High temp,
sickness, aches and pains. I was in bed for a week and lost a stone
in weight. I new this wasn’t good for my baby and had so much
anxiety due to this worry I was almost having panic attacks. I took
Relenza and regretted every dose, worrying that it would do more harm
than good. At 9 weeks i sensed that something was not right with the
pregnancy and went for a private scan. Sadly I was right and found
my baby had died at around the time I book the appointment (8 weeks
5 days) I was and still am devastated. I’ve had 2 healthy
pregnancies and no fertility issues. I firmly believe that the swine
flu I suffered caused me to miscarry.

the time that i was 3 weeks pregnant. I had taken Tamiflu for 5
days. The next week i found out i was pregnant and when i went in at
6 weeks, there was a heartbeat on my ultrasound. Everything looked
fine but i couldnt help but worry because i had been spotting for
weeks. they told me it was normal but still i was uneasy.I went in
with heavy bleeding to the ER and the ultrasound done at my OB said
that there was no heartbeat and the baby hadnt developed from a week
ago. this week i miscarried and had a D&C done. i firmly believe
that either the swine flu or the tamiflu caused my miscarriage! Good
luck to all pregnant women struggling with the same issue!

(37) Kim says: I had “flu-like symptoms” this past November and
miscarried a few days later at 13 weeks. The doc said the baby’s
body showed no abnormal anatomical issues and a genetics test came
back clear. He said the most likely cause was being sick from the
flu (which could have been h1n1 but I was never tested). This was my
first miscarriage, and I have three healthy children. It’s strange
what your body will do…

this is my third miscarriage and it never gets any easier. it could
be from the flu and it could be for the unknown reason of my other

all as we try to get up from being knocked down so hard. keep your

(40) Greta says: My 5 year old had H1N1 the first week of
September, before any vaccines were available for anyone. I was 16
weeks pregnant with my 4th child and the ultrasound 2 weeks prior
showed a healthy, normal development with a strong heartbeat. At my
18 week appointment on 11 September, there was no heartbeat,
confirmed by an ultrasound shortly thereafter. When I delivered him
3 days later, he had been deceased for at least a week. While I
never got sick (no fever, aches, chills), I have no doubt that the
virus was a primary contributor to our loss of Walt.

entire family contracted the swine flu. I did not ever develop
symptoms, but shortly after the baby began to get weaker and weaker,
and the heartbeat stopped about 9 weeks…just before Halloween. I
really worry if swine flu was not the cause. I did not have the
vaccine…but it seems strange to me, the turn of events.
