You are visiting Columbus Dulcimer Clubs Website

I had yahoo group called publicdomaindulcimer that I started in 2004. I had alot of music on my website free to download. Yahoo had discontinued group. So I moved most of my music to https://groups.io/g/publicdomaindulcimer.

The group allows lots of storage for files. I have over 20 years worth of music that I have done on the website available for free for members to download. I realized long ago that publishing books with music is not a money making venture. Most people just barely get their cost back, especially if it is not mainstream music like dulcimer music.

And having been in a group that performs, we didn't want to deal with the "music police". If a group wants to play a copyrighted piece of music, the venue must pay a fee to ASCAP or BMI or whoever holds the copyright on the music that you want to play. (Or you can get written permission from the copyright holder.) If you only play public domain music, you never have to even think about that problem. You can record the music, print out sheet music, even make books of the sheet music to sell, and you don't have to pay anyone for the rights to the music. And even arrangements of music can be copyrighted. All those dulcimer books that you play from... most say that the music is copyrighted.

So all the music that I have arranged is in the public domain. My arrangement and tab is in the public domain. You don't need my permission to do anything with the music. You can even take all the music that I have arranged and publish it in a book without paying me a dime. And that would be fine with me!

I like "digest format" for emails. It saves all the emails for the day and sends them in a single email. In groups that have alot of activity, it cuts down alot on the emails. I know how to sort emails in my mail provider but alot of people don't know how to do that so digest format is quite nice.
