I moved to Columbus in January of 2007. I decided I needed a church to attend. I checked out a number of them. My beliefs are a little bit unusual... and I never expected to find my spiritual home in a Christian Spiritualist church.

The Christian Spiritualist Temple is at the corner of 6th and State Streets, across and down the street a little from Grant Hospital. The main library is very close. When I entered the church I felt right at home from the start. I was raised in a Presbyterian church, and I didn't know it at the time, but the beautiful church was originally a Presbyterian church and was designed by the same architect who designed the First Presbyterian church in Sandusky, Ohio.

The church has a Spiritual Forum on the first Saturday of every month from 11 AM to 4 PM. It is a metaphysical psychic event!

I attended my first one as a total stranger. I don't remember who the first psychic reader was but the first thing out of her mouth was "I see a little dog around you."

I started crying. I had had an adorable 5 pound ball of fluff named Mattie. I had her put to sleep the day before my mother passed away.

I have gotten other messages that were "hits". Reverend Carol asked my if I was named after someone.

I told her "Yes, I was named after my grandmother."

She looked very puzzled... then she asked "Was it your grandmother's middle name?"

"Yes, that's right, my grandmother was Anna Barbara."

At another forum one of the readers told me that I need vitamin C. At church the following day, Rev. Carol told me that I needed to eat oranges.

I enjoy belonging to a "psychic" church. Many of the members are very psychic. (We all are to a certain degree.)

The forums vary each month. There are different psychics giving readings and different energy workers. Rev. Carol, Rev. Jim, and Rev. Sharon are usually there. Everyone volunteers their time. Several of the members and friends of the church will often volunteer as readers. Since we charge $20 for as many readings as you can fit in and lunch, our members who are just developing their skills are comfortable giving readings, too.

We usually have at least 4-5 people giving psychic readings. Their methods vary: Tarot cards, pendulums, channelling, etc.  Our other practitioners vary quite a bit. We have had handwriting analysis, reiki, foot reflexology, acupuncture, massage, wanding, emotional freedom technique, and more.

So come and join us. The food is very good and the readings are fun!
